KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible
Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him,
but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for
international justice.

Please be a traveler, not a tourist. Try
new things, meet new people, and look beyond what’s right in front of
you. Those are the keys to understanding this amazing world we live in.
While searching
youtube, to unearth my three favorite songs sang by Whitney Houston each
one took me back to a distant memory.
It's amazing what songs can do......
I remember like yesterday.
9th grade.
Choir room.
Rainy
day.
My choir teacher announced we were going to be singing "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" as one
of our last performances for the year. He chose me to be the lead singer and I chickened out and told him "Noooo way, please choose
someone else!!".

I recall the moment I heard "My Love is Your Love"
My mom and step-dad at that time were away on a weekend trip to Florida. My
brother and I had to spend that weekend with my Aunt. I remember hearing "My Love is Your Love" playing downstairs in the kitchen. I instantly
fell in love with the song.
Later that weekend, when my mom returned she asked "Have you heard that song by Whitney Houston? In Florida they are playing the reggae version to the song and people are going crazy over it. I've got to get it!"
------
"Million Dollar Bill" takes me back to Japan. I was watching "Good Morning America" when Whitney
performed the song. I secretly waited for her to mess up. No one had heard from her in years. She ended up dong a pretty good job - a little breathy, but overall I enjoyed her performance. I was sold. I even blogged about it (see post here).
Am I the only one that's really curious about how Marlo has made her riches. I've heard so many different stories. The 80 year old man. The billionaire. High paid traveling prostitute.
Yes, the stories are extreme......
I would really like for her to share what the real deal is.
*Dangit!! I hate ending a sentence with "is"*
Anyway, despite all of that and even though I'm not a fan of Ms. Drama Queen- I love this outfit.
I'm at the beauty salon and this lady's child is screaming and crying his little eyes out. It's obvious, he doesn't want to get his haircut. Poor kid. He has to be about 3 years old.
In a stressful situation, such as this, I would do one of the following:
(1.) Calm the child down and let him regroup and get himself together.
OR
(2.) Simply get his haircut another day.
Seriously, those are the only two options I see feasible, but Ooohhhhh No!!! What does the lady do?
She takes the poor kid outside and whoops him - ALL BECAUSE HE'S CRYING! What the hell? Do you honestly think that's going to make him stop? Why would you do that? I think her reaction was utterly ridiculous and showed poor parenting skills. Why would you spank an already crying 3 year old? It makes no sense.
I really hate to see people hit there kids. I think it's one of the worst things ever! Now, in certain cases, I understand you shouldn't spare the rod and spoil the child, but come-on.
Am the only one that's optimistic enough to believe you can still achieve things in this world without depending on the old adage "It's not what you know, but who you know". I hate that. I feel there's nothing more fulfilling than accomplishing something on your own, without someone else being the reason.

A
few times in my life I’ve had moments of absolute clarity. When for a
few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather
than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. It’s
as though it had all just come into existence. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like
everything, they fade. I have lived my life on these moments. They pull
me back to the present, and I realize that everything is exactly the way
it was meant to be. ― Christopher Isherwood
Please - Don't - Tell - Anyone! The thought alone of what I'm about to say makes me cringe.
Here goes................
I've bought seven pairs of shoes, in less than a month. SEVEN PAIRS! One pair being Nike tennis shoes and I don't even wear tennis shoes. Hold on, it gets worst, three of the pairs I don't even like anymore. Madness is what I call it. To make matters even worst, I have a $100.00 gift card to a major retail store here and guess what.....I've already seen the shoes I want.
