Matte Nail Polish!

Hate it or Love it??

After doing some research, I discovered matte nail polish has apparently been around since last summer. I know! I know! I am super late!! I usually try to stay on top of things like this, but somehow I must have overlooked it. Anyway, I am digging it. It's so runway to me.
So, what are your thoughts?

REALLY??

You gotta check this out...........

In a world where people appreciate good design everywhere, cool mini hotel rooms are the latest ‘it’ trend. In Tokyo, the Capsule Inn exemplifies the bare-essentials hotel rooms for brief use, and similar concepts are popping up at airports, train stations and downtown's around the world, replacing and mimicking the “day rooms” already existing at many airports.

Miss you too!!

On Sunday, one of my good friends from Japan got married. I wish I was there. *sad face* She and her husband were even willing to pay for me to fly out for the wedding. I know right!! However, I thought by now, I would have been working, so I turned down their offer. DANG!! I miss them all very much. We all use to have so much fun together. Nevertheless, Alex went and represented for the both of us. He said it was really nice.

Now, just to give you some background information on Japanese weddings, they aren't like Western weddings. They do it B.I.G! As a guest…… YOU. NEED. MONEY!! Because when you attend a Japanese wedding, you are expected to bring an Oshugi, a cash gift for the couple. And I ain’t talkin bout twinny dollas or fiddy dollas lol!!. I’m talkin bout as much as 900.00 dollas fo a couple (i.e.,  Alex and I) and dependin on yo relationship wit da bride and groom it could be mo. Lol!!

Nevertheless, while it may be costly to attend a Japanese wedding, they do make sure no one leaves empty handed. Each guest receives a very nice gift from the bride and groom, that is usually pricey (e.g., a locket or cuff-links from Tiffany’s *just depends*). Also during this time, games are played and prizes are given away. At my friend’s wedding, some of the prizes included: a flat screen TV, a digital camera and more.

Another tradition is for the bride to have several dress changes throughout the day. For instance, my friend had three dress changes. She wore a traditional white wedding dress, a kimono, and later a red evening gown for the receptions. Note the “s” on receptions. Yep, they had 3 receptions. I told you they do it B.I.G!!

In any case, Alex said I was super missed at the wedding by him and all my friends. *sigh.* So of course he had to get it on camera. AWE!! Check it out!

TELEPHONE!!

This video is H.O.T!! I love it!!

It's very rare that I end up loving a music video, but this one was sooo creative. I love all the colors used and the visual effects *the twitching*. And of course, I had to checkout what Beyonce and Gaga were wearing throughout the video. So, checkout my breakdown of things I loved......

  • Loved- Lady Gaga's big shouldered prison striped dress in the beginning.
  • Loved- The gloves Gaga is wearing throughout most of the jail scene, but you can see it best when she is released from prison.
  • Loved- Beyonce's banana yellow and black eyeshadow when she is at the cafe.

Anyway, I'm finished rambling...........check out the video and don't forget to pay attention to the makeup/clothes/shoes/ hair etc. ENJOY!!

My Top 3 1/2 Oscar Winners for 2010.....

And the 2010 Oscar Nomination for Best Actress goes to *Drum roll please*____________!!!

STOP! STOP! STOP! STOP!

Did you really think this was going to be a post about who I thought should win Oscar awards??  Yeah, right! Come On! I didn't even watch the thing. BORING!! Now what I did do, was check out what the celebs were wearing for the night *of course*.

Now,  after looking through tons of pictures from the red carpet and coming across tons of ugly gowns, I finally found my 3 1/2 favorite dresses. The gowns I chose were ones that I thought looked different, fashionably sexy, contemporary, and I could picture myself possibly wearing it. There were other dresses that were fabulous, but they looked so original to me and boring.  Anyway, check out my picks...........

Just absolutely Fabulous! This dress was my favorite! J-lo did her thang!! My only issue was her hair. I wasn't too keen on it.
Love this dress. It reminds me so much of what Charlotte wore in "Sex In the City" for Carrie's wedding. Loved it!!

FAB! Lea Michele!

First off, I absolutely love the Bohemian look on Nicole. She always pulls it off very well. And as for her eye makeup absolutely flawless. LOVE IT ALL!!

Love the back of this dress also!!

Now, this is Demi Moore's dress from behind. I love the back of this dress and the color! Marvelous! However, I didn't like the front so much.

"I Like my Money Right Where I Can See it - Hanging in My Closet"

Yesterday, was such a beautiful day. It was too pretty to waste. So, you know I had to get out and about. I was out practically all day with my mom and aunt. It's the first time since I've been back that the three of us have hung out together and shopped the day away. It was fun!! Just like old times!!

To have and to hold from this day forward......

The weekend before last, I received my Valentine's gift from Alex, a dress and plane ticket up north for a wedding in Long Island, New York. Not seeing each other for three months felt like an eternity. We had a great time. The wedding was very beautiful. It was held in Long Island at the Fox Hollow Hotel. Man, the rooms were really nice and the bed was super comfy. I loved it!!

I got a chance to meet some of Alex's family members. Loved them! I was finally able to put a face with the names that I hear about so often. Oh and get this............I found out  that the last name McKenzie (which is my family name, on my Nan's side) is in his family as well. AHHHHH!!!! Jesus, don't let us be related lol!!

Anyway, I didn't get to do much sight seeing while I was there, but on my ride to the Bronx I think I saw plenty while stuck in traffic for what felt like hours. After spending a couple of days in New York and Jersey , I flew back down here and Alex met me the following day and spent a week here in LR. Boy, didn't the week go by fast. Sheesh!! Before I knew it, it was time for him to go back. *sad face* Nevertheless, I enjoyed the time we spent together. Check out the pics below.
