 Yesterday, was such a beautiful day. It was too pretty to waste. So, you know I had to get out and about. I was out practically all day with my mom and aunt. It's the first time since I've been back that the three of us have hung out together and shopped the day away. It was fun!! Just like old times!!

The Mak's Birthday!

On Saturday, I went to work and after work I raced home to find my friend Maki a birthday gift. I searched high and low for something at the mall, but to no avail. ARRRRGH!! Anyway, do you remember me previously mentioning what I did for Alex's Birthday? Probably not!! Well, I had his birthday at a place called "Locked Up" in Shibuya. We had a blast. My friend Maki found it for me.

"Locked Up" is a novelty restaurant that's themed around the idea of being in prison. Upon arrival, Alex and I were handcuffed by women dressed in sexy police uniforms and escorted to a jail cell to meet our friends. It was a lot of fun and we had plenty of laughs. Now, it cost about $45.00 dollars per person, but that included an eight course meal (very delish), dessert, and all you can drink (alcohol) for 2 hours. Anyway, I say all that to say this........

Maki had her birthday at a place called "Alcatraz ER" another novelty restaurant based around the idea of a medical prison. Unlike "Locked Up", upon arrival you have to state your blood type to enter and if you don't know, well, your just assed out. No, I'm only kidding! I think you can still enter if you don't know! Once you enter the restaurant, you are then escorted by sexy nurses to your medical jail cell.

After we ate all that we could eat from the menu for $35.00, it was time to play some drinking games. By the way, the food was pretty good! The fried chicken wings were my favorite. So, back to the drinks...... they had many drinks to choose from and they were all named after different medical terms like "influenza" and "myocardial infarction" and the list continues. It was good!

When all was said and done, no one was ready to go home, so we went to a club called Gaspanic. It was free to get in, as long as you were ordering from the bar or had a drink in your hand. By the end of the night morning (5:30a.m) we were all pooped!! Alex and I returned home and tried to catch some shut eye for a few hours because Sunday was going to be another eventful day.

Nothing Can Stop Me...

These past few days I have been, well, kind of sick. I lost my voice on Thursday and I was literally down to a whisper. I didn't go to work that day and tried every remedy under the sun to make it come back. However, nothing seemed to work. That is until, I remembered one of my grandma's remendies. Yep, I had some Jamaican Rum (Joncrow Batty), lemon, and honey and guess what..............IT WORKED!! I was up and running in no time lol!! Anyway, with all of that being said, I felt well enough to go out this weekend and paint the town red with my friends. GOOD TIMES!!

Takosanguchi (city in Japan)

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of going to Takosanguchi. It was so much fun!! I had a really great time. I went to a Trick Art Museum and experienced the art of illusion like never before. I also, got to go to the very top of Mount Tako on one of Japan's steepest cable lifts. Can we say scary! Whew!!

BEER GARDEN

Once we made it to the top, we ate at a nice restaurant called Beer Garden, which overlooked the city. It was really nice, but unfortunately it had rained earlier and it was very misty, so we couldn't see much. Nevertheless, I got to enjoy 2 hours of all you can eat and drink (alcohol of course). We had a really great time. Pics coming soon!

A Forgotten Post....Sorry!

About a month ago, we took the kids on a weekend Summer Retreat to the country side of Japan. I can't exactly remember the name of where we were, but it was somewhere close to Mt. Fuju. I was dreading it the entire week, but when the day actually came, we all had a blast. We visited a farm, played games, watched fireworks, and ate traditional Japanese food. Oh my god, how could I forget this part................I also took a nude bath with my co-workers and boss at a Japanese Bath House (AHHHHH!!!).

Wii BBQ

So, last weekend, Alex and I had a Wii BBQ here at the house. Yep, Wii BBQ!! I figured it would be something different and fun to do. It went really well. All 20 people I invited showed up and we had a blast. We had tons of food and tons of alcohol to party the night away. Hence, the night ended around 5a.m the next morning. I know right!! This past weekend, I was convinced to go out on the town with my friends. So, I ended up in Shinjuku and Roppongi for the night!

First, we started our loooonnnnnnggg night out in Shinjuku (one of Japan's busiest prefectures) on the rooftop of an eighth floor building. Man, wasn't it nice!! Once we made it to the top floor, there were several restaurants aligning the rooftop of this building. The sight was spectacular. There were tons of restaurants to choose from such as; Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, and Malaysian restaurants. All of this while the moon sat right above us as we ate and listened to music.

Several Umeshu's later, we left and went to Roppongi to party the night away. I didn't get home until after 7:00 the next morning. Whew!! What a night!! (Umeshu is a Japanese drink made from unriped plums. It's sooo good! It has a sweet and sour taste.

The 4th of July

When I woke up this morning it sooooo didn't feel like the 4th of July. There was no Matt Lauer, Al Rocker, or Meredith Vieira hosting the 4th of July parade on television. Not to mention, I didn't even smell any BBQ in the air. UGH!! THIS SUCKS!! . I know!! I know!! It's not the Japanese's Independence Day, but I wish it was.

Well, eventually as the day progressed, I cheered up. Originally, Alex and I were suppose to go over his friend's house to celebrate, but we changed our minds. We decided to BBQ here at the house. YIPPEE!! However, we didn't have all that we needed to do a BBQ, so we stopped off at "Joyful Honda" ( basically a two story Super Walmart) for groceries.

Well, even though the morning started off a little sketchy, I had a great 4th of July here in Japan. I had my bbq wings, shish kebabs, baked beans, corn, honey rolls, and dessert. What more could you ask for here in Japan for the 4th!!

As Promised!

Okay, so I told you all I would post pics of my night out with my boss and let you know how everything went. Well, I can say without a doubt, we had tons of fun and plenty of laughs. First of all, we went to a really snazzy bar for drinks and chit chatted for awhile (you know, girls talk). However, the fellas (Alex and my boss’s husband) had something different in mind. They went to an electronic store around the corner (MEN!). After, drinking my watered down “Sex on the Beach,” we left and headed to the Okama Bar.

Upon arrival, we were greeted at the front door by the "ladies of the night". My first reaction was "OMG, these are NOT MEN!?!?!?!!" THEY HAD BOOBS!! These men looked every bit of a woman (with the exception of two older ones). Not to mention, after a few more drinks, they began to look even more like women lol!!

Anyway, there were quite a few people in attendance and some that seemed as though they were regulars. After being seated, each Drag one by one came over to our table and socialized with us before show time. They spoke what little English they knew and the rest was translated by my boss and other co-worker. During this time, I couldn’t help but notice that one of the “ladies” kept starring at me. “Oh geeezz, what now” I said to myself. Within seconds of that thought, the “lady” announced to my table that I looked like Beyonce (hahaha!!!). Me? Beyonce? Lol!! So, guess what?? Without any delay, the lady broke out into the famous Beyonce “Uh oh, uh oh, uh oh, oh " dance lol!! It was too funny.

Nevertheless, we had a great time and the show was excellent. There was plenty of choreography and drama on stage to keep us entertained the entire night. We had a grand ol time!!

Unfortunately, today is a rainy day. I haven't really felt like doing much of anything (this includes hanging out with my boss). Rainy days always make me feel blah and lazy!! Also, according to my co-workers, it's still springtime (Are you serious?) here in Japan and I am on Spring Break Vacation (ahahaha WTH!!). Seriously though, it's not considered summertime here until the end of July, so it has been raining every other day (May showers in freaking June & July). Arrrgh!! I usually like rainy days, but not consistently!!

Anyway, I am typing this post before I leave out today. My boss has been trying to do something with me and a few other co-workers and Alex for the last week and a half, so I finally gave in and said "okay". WHO TOLD ME TO SAY OKAY??

At 7:30 tonight, I am going out to eat in Tachikawa and later to an Okama Bar (An okama bar is one where the staff are predominantly male, cross dressing homosexuals) to see a drag show called Amon !! ARE YOU SERIOUS?? WOW!!! I will leave you with that much! WOOO HOOO!! This shall be interesting and fun!!

Revenge of the Fallen

Last night, I had the pleasure of seeing a movie that I usually wouldn't go see and absolutely enjoyed it "Transformers Revenge of the Fallen". I know right? It's so not me, but it was really good. It was full of action, suspense, and drama. I would definitely give it two thumbs up. It premiered here in Japan before it did in the States. I think the release date in America is June 24th, but it released here in Japan June 19th.
